Can humans become so close to a single entity as to eliminate all existential threats to one another? Is this desirable?
Is there an inevitable cycle in the condition of a people who fail to unite?
On a long enough timeline, can this change? What would be required? What is the alternative if the species is to survive?
I have a suspicion that if we create just the right incentivization systems, we can stave off destruction and maintain our individuality for a long while. I certainly believe these systems have not been developed to date.
This page is dedicated to that thought experiment. I have just enough time to state the questions. I'll head off to do other work and someday I will return, at least a cursory amount of research in hand, and write more.
